Renata Whedbee is the creator of Onyx Samurai, a visionary reimagining of African history through cinematic fantasy. As a visual storyteller and author, she expands the legacy of Yasuke—the first African samurai—by exploring the what if:

What if more of his story had been recorded? What if his bloodline continued?

Through her graphic novels and animated micro-series, Renata builds a new universe that blends African heritage with Japanese tradition.

She is also the founder of Naddydread LLC and its creative division BlkWorx Productions, where she develops original IP and leads AI-driven storytelling from concept to screen.
